Keeping the Singapore Hawker Culture Alive Forum Video
Featuring Dennis Lim (Owner, Shiok), Tommy Chin (Owner, Nyonya Cafe), Elly (Owner, Satay-by-the Bay SF), Wilson Khoo (SingaporeConnect), and Dennis Goh (Co-Founder, HungryGoWhere),
we highlighted a vulnerable sector of the local community especially during the depths of the Covid-19 lockdown times. They were our restaurant and food small business owners keeping the Singapore hawker culture alive, but suffering from the dramatic shift in the business landscape.
To a large degree, starting the coordinated food group buy and pick-up setup, a SingaporeConnect member, Wilson Khoo, has been reaching out to help offer them means and ideas for transitioning their business model to the new reality. We capped off with Dennis Goh joining in from Singapore to offer his observations and support for everyone keeping the hawker food culture alive in the SF Bay Area.

Cooking Singapore Food @ Home (Outside-USA viewers) Video
Missing Singaporean cuisine? How about cooking it at home! In possibly the most humorous session to date, two master chefs Em Lim (of Dabao Singapore) and Erika shared their recipes with a video demonstration to help you create these two authentic Singaporean dishes: Hainanese Chicken Rice and Kueh Dar Dar, at home.
This video features a video segment of one of the chefs, Em Lim, on a Grocery Challenge TV show. As the show is copyrighted in the USA, the video for USA viewers has most of that segment clipped out.
